On Tuesday 18 November at 19:30, there will be an outreach talk entitled “El Fondo Cósmico de Microondas: desvelando el origen del Universo” by José Alberto Rubiño at the Santander Ateneo c/ Gómez Oreña, 5, Santander.
José Alberto Rubiño is a research professor at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC). He specialises in cosmology, particularly the study of the cosmic microwave background, large-scale structures, and the physics of the Universe’s earliest moments. He is the scientific leader of the QUIJOTE experiment and the principal investigator of the Tenerife Microwave Spectrometer (TMS). He also coordinated one of the science groups of the Planck mission (ESA). He is the co-author of over 300 scientific publications. In 2018, he received the Gruber Cosmology Prize as part of the Planck collaboration. He is also the author of the book The Cosmic Microwave Background: Observing the Origin of the Universe (RBA, 2017).
The talk will be in Spanish and open to anyone who would like to attend.
